Justin Fields expresses confidence in his future with the Bears and states that he is not concerned about it.

In Lake Forest, Illinois, the Chicago Bears are anticipated to secure the top pick in the 2024 NFL draft, offering them a choice from a talented group of quarterback prospects. Justin Fields, the 24-year-old Bears quarterback, acknowledged the potential impact of the final five games of the season on his evaluation as a long-term option in Chicago. However, he emphasized that he won’t dwell on circumstances beyond his control.

Fields expressed a philosophical perspective, stating that life isn’t always fair. He emphasized focusing on what he can control, leaving the rest to fate. Regardless of whether he remains with the Bears next year or not, Fields stressed that football doesn’t define his identity, and his happiness remains rooted in his faith.

The evaluation of Fields is complicated by his inconsistent performance in eight starts this season. Despite improvements in completion percentage and passer rating, his QBR ranks 23rd, and the Bears stand at 4-8 going into Week 14. Fields acknowledged the challenge of being consistent and constantly striving for improvement.

The quarterback’s performance in the upcoming five games will play a crucial role in determining the Bears’ decision regarding the former first-round pick. The possibility of using the No. 1 pick on prospects like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye adds to the uncertainty. Fields, drafted by a previous front office and coaching staff, remains confident in his future in the NFL, regardless of the Bears’ decision.

Addressing criticism and speculation about his future, Fields revealed that he is accustomed to such scrutiny since arriving in Chicago. He emphasized not taking things personally, understanding that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Fields drew on past experiences where things didn’t go as planned but turned out better than imagined, reinforcing his philosophy of not stressing about events beyond his control. He remains committed to being the best person and player he can be, regardless of the unfolding circumstances.
