Defensive lineman Chris McClellan from Florida is making a transfer to Missouri.

Chris McClellan becomes the fourth player from Florida’s 2023 roster to transfer to an SEC rival, as he commits to Missouri. The junior defensive lineman shared his decision via On3 Sports on Tuesday, expressing confidence that Missouri will provide the optimal environment for his success and development over the next two years.

McClellan, who entered the NCAA transfer portal on December 4 after two seasons at UF and the dismissal of his position coach, Sean Spencer, emphasized his belief that Missouri would place him in a position to thrive.

His initial commitment to Florida in November 2021, during a period without a head coach, remained steadfast even after Billy Napier took over the coaching role the following month. Throughout his time at Florida, McClellan played in 25 games, securing his first career start in 2023 against Florida State.

During his two-year tenure with UF, McClellan made significant contributions to the Gators’ interior defensive line, amassing 46 tackles, 3.5 for loss, two sacks, and one fumble recovery. His total defensive snaps in orange and blue amounted to 564.

McClellan is now the tenth member of Florida’s 2023 roster to announce a transfer destination during this postseason, joining the likes of Max Brown (Charlotte), Caleb Douglas (Texas Tech), Jonathan Odom (Eastern Michigan), Princely Umanmielen (Ole Miss), Kamari Wilson (Arizona State), Jordan Herman (Charlotte), Jadarrius Perkins (Toledo), Jalen Farmer (Kentucky), and Trevor Etienne (Georgia).
