The Raiders have inked a deal with a tight end who previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
PITTSBURGH — Zach Gentry, the former tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is once again making a move. Following a substantial portion of the current season spent with the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad, Gentry has been acquired by the Las Vegas Raiders. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that the Raiders have included him in their active roster in preparation for the Week 17 clash against the Indianapolis Colts.
Originally a fifth-round selection by the Steelers in 2019, Gentry spent a full four seasons in Pittsburgh before being released at the conclusion of this year’s training camp in August. His career includes 40 games played, with 15 starts, amassing 39 receptions for 303 yards and no touchdowns. Notably, during the 2022 season, he contributed 19 receptions and 132 yards. Additionally, Gentry has participated in 211 special teams snaps over the last two seasons.
Following his release from the Steelers, the Cincinnati Bengals promptly added Gentry to their practice squad, where he remained for 16 weeks without making an appearance in any games for the team.
