Before tonight’s game against the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns enthusiasts have the opportunity to exchange their old quarterbacks’ jerseys spanning from 1999 to 2021 for a fresh one.
Before tonight’s game against the Jets, Cleveland Browns enthusiasts have the opportunity to exchange jerseys of former starting quarterbacks from the 21st century. There are 31 former Browns quarterbacks eligible for this trade, and fans can replace their old jerseys with new ones featuring current players such as Joe Flacco, Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb, or Myles Garrett.
Despite both Chubb and Watson being sidelined for the season, Flacco has assumed the current starting quarterback role until the end of the season, although he is expected to be released by the team by March.
Among the quarterbacks available for trade are Johnny Manziel, Robert Griffin III, Baker Mayfield, Brady Quinn, and Doug Pederson. Fans can trade in jerseys of any quarterback who started for the team from Tim Couch’s selection as the No. 1 overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft until the conclusion of the 2021 season.
This jersey exchange initiative is sponsored by DUDE Wipes, a reusable toilet paper company targeting men. The company gained investment on ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’ in 2015 from former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. The available jersey sizes are large, extra-large, and 2XL, with only about 100 jerseys in total.
Given the limited quantity, Browns fans won’t need an extensive amount of time to part with jerseys representing numerous past starters. The Cleveland Browns are set to face the New York Jets tonight, and a victory would secure them a playoff spot for the first time since 2020. This potential postseason berth would mark only the franchise’s second since 2003, a period when many of the quarterbacks whose jerseys are eligible for trade played for the team. The longest-tenured quarterback during that span was Baker Mayfield, who played for the team from 2018 to 2021.
