It is anticipated that Will Levis, the quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, will be the starting quarterback in the upcoming game against the Houston Texans.

On Sunday afternoon, the Houston Texans are set to face rookie quarterback Will Levis from Nashville, according to Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel. Levis, who missed last week’s game due to an ankle injury, is expected to start at NRG Stadium. The Titans view Levis as the potential long-term solution at quarterback despite mixed results during the 2023 season.

Coach Vrabel stated, “He’s in line to start. That’s good. Being able to get him back and continue to get this work and help us find a way to win a road game within the division.”

Levis, who endured seven sacks in a previous matchup against Houston two weeks ago resulting in a 19-16 overtime loss, returned to practice at full speed on Wednesday. Despite having his ankle taped up, Levis appeared unhindered in his movements with the offense. The quarterback expressed his eagerness to play and leave the season on a positive note after facing challenging losses.

Drafted from Kentucky in April, Levis, a second-round pick, has started eight games this season, securing a 3-5 record. He has thrown for 1,792 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions.

With postseason aspirations out of reach, Levis is focused on building chemistry with his receivers and aiming for victories to conclude the season on a high. The Titans also have a season finale against Jacksonville, and the outcomes of these games could influence the AFC South standings.

Levis emphasized his priority, saying, “I just want to win games. I am not as much excited about (being a spoiler) as I am about just winning a football game.”

On the Houston side (8-7), rookie C.J. Stroud is set to return for the first time since Week 14 after clearing concussion protocol. Stroud, who led the NFL in passing yards with 3,631, spoke to the media for the first time in three weeks, expressing gratitude for his teammates who held down the fort in his absence. The Texans need to win their last two games to secure a spot in the AFC postseason, currently tied for first place in the AFC South and holding the No. 8 seed in the AFC. The Texans conclude the regular season against the Colts, a game that could determine the division or the final wild card spot.
