The Ecuador international, who was on loan at West Brom, has been recalled by the Seagulls after making seven starts and 14 substitute appearances. The original plan was always to arrange another loan, and it seems Ipswich is prepared to finalize the deal.
Kieran McKenna’s team had an exceptional first half of the season and currently holds the second position in the Championship. However, a recent downturn, marked by five games without a win and just one goal in their last four matches, has prompted them to seek reinforcements in their attacking lineup.
Sarmiento, with 14 Premier League appearances for Brighton, of which 12 were as a substitute, brings valuable experience to Ipswich as they aim to strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
