The Cleveland Browns have added defensive end Sam Kamara to their practice squad, while simultaneously parting ways with two other players through releases.
The Cleveland Browns made adjustments to their practice squad, with the addition of defensive end Sam Kamara and the release of punter Matt Haack and guard Joey Fisher, as announced on Tuesday.
Sam Kamara has had a fluctuating presence on the Browns’ practice squad since 2022. Although he played 37 defensive snaps in Week 16 against the Houston Texans, he did not record any statistics. Kamara also participated in seven defensive snaps during the Browns’ Week 18 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022. His previous stint with the Chicago Bears in 2021 involved eight games, during which he accumulated 10 combined tackles and one tackle for a loss.
Matt Haack assumed punting duties for the Browns in their recent victory over the New York Jets, filling in for the injured Corey Bojorquez. Haack punted three times, totaling 155 yards. His release might signal the potential return of Bojorquez for Week 18.
Joey Fisher, an undrafted free agent from Shepherd in the spring, did not make any regular-season appearances this year. After spending time on the practice squads of the San Francisco 49ers and Steelers, Fisher joined the Browns in December.
