Article: Tennessee ends its pursuit of recruiting Texas A&M sophomore wide receiver Evan Stewart.
One of Texas A&M’s competitors in the SEC has apparently abandoned its efforts to recruit Evan Stewart, the Aggies’ sophomore wide receiver, from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
As reported by Pete Nakos, a college sports business and transfer portal reporter for On3 Sports, the Tennessee Volunteers have decided to cease their pursuit of Evan Stewart, according to insider information.
As the most sought-after player in the transfer portal, with a name, image, and likeness valuation of $1.4 million, Stewart is expected to attract significant financial offers. Regardless of his destination, the standout sophomore wide receiver emphasized on Tuesday, through X, that he will prioritize his mental and physical well-being.
Encouragingly for Texas A&M’s fanbase, there are indications that Stewart is not seriously considering other SEC rivals such as Alabama or Texas for his next move. Instead, he is reportedly eyeing universities like Florida State, Ole Miss, and Oregon as potential options.
If Stewart were to opt for the Rebels’ program, he would become the third Aggies prospect in the last month to switch from Bryan-College Station to Ole Miss, following in the footsteps of Anthony Maddox and Walter Nolen.
