Ipswich Town: Former player Sammy Moore leaves Faversham Town.

The 36-year-old has been dismissed following a three-game winless streak, despite maintaining the top position in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division.

Sammy Moore, who had previously joined the Lillywhites from Potters Bar in November 2022 during their pursuit of survival in the Isthmian South East, faced a 4-2 home defeat to Deal Town on Saturday. This loss led to his termination, despite overseeing more than 50 games.

Faversham chairman Gary Smart expressed gratitude to Sammy and his family for their hard work over the past 14 months. The decision was attributed to a combination of recent results, unmet objectives set at the beginning of the season, and the available resources for the management team.

Moore, who had a brief playing stint with Town in 2008, making one substitute appearance in a 3-1 win at Sunderland, later joined Stevenage. His football career also included spells with AFC Wimbledon and Leyton Orient in the Football League before transitioning to coaching. He managed Leatherhead, Concord Rangers, and Hemel Hempstead Town in subsequent years.
