The Eagles, according to Ocho Cinco, have been playing possum.
Since the Eagles are in the postseason and the season is almost over, some theories are being considered as to why the team has struggled so much over the last six weeks. However, there have not been many responses from the organization. With their recent awful performances, Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson suggested in a video he posted on Monday that the Eagles were essentially playing possum.
Although it would be fantastic, Johnson claimed that the Eagles were giving their bodies and minds a rest before the postseason. However, that does not seem likely. Even though head coach Nick Sirianni is known for doing whatever he feels will give them a competitive edge, it is difficult to believe that all of the ineptitude was a part of a larger scheme, even if they were trying to keep things as simple as possible. Even if they were playing possum, the team should not have been playing careless, undisciplined football.
Nevertheless, after the humiliating defeat to the Giants, tight end Dallas Goedert gave one of the more forthright responses to the questions, telling reporters that the team let up once they secured a postseason spot. The Eagles may have been considering the postseason while appearing disinterested in the final few weeks of the season, whether on purpose or not.

While this is not ideal, I believe that everyone will be prepared to go and that we will demonstrate our abilities to the world.
Even so, it does not exactly inspire confidence that they will instantly regain their motivation and focus now that they are getting ready for the wild card game. In addition, there were still a number of reasons to persevere over the past few weeks, such as taking home the NFC East title and locking up the No. 2 seed.

Update on Jalen Hurts’ injury: Testing apparently revealed that his finger was not fractured.
The possum angle would have fooled even the most ardent supporters if the Eagles surprised everyone by playing better than they have all season against the Bucs on Monday night. However, I do not think anyone should hope that the lengthy list of problems will be resolved in a week.
