The Technical Director of FC Utrecht has suggested that Sam Lammers had multiple options before securing a loan switch to the Eredivisie side from Rangers.

Before agreeing to a loan swap from Rangers to the Eredivisie club, Sam Lammers may have had other options, according to FC Utrecht’s Technical Director.

In what is one of the most poorly considered moves of the 21st century from a Rangers perspective, the Ibrox club forked out £3.5m to sign the forward from Atalanta.

Now moving back the Eredivisie, the Dutch club’s Technical Director has hinted to Utrecht’s official website that Sam Lammers had a number of transfer options of the table.

Additionally given the number 10 by departing Rangers manager Michael Beale, Jordy Zuidam, the director of Utrecht, has proposed that the Dutch team consider the forward more of an all-out striker.

This would also account for the club’s choice to give Sam Lammers the number 9 shirt.
