Nashville Mike Kafka, the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants, was interviewed by the Tennessee Titans leadership on Friday in regards to the head coaching position. Since in-person interviews are prohibited by NFL standards until January 22, Kafka was interviewed virtually. The interview for the position took place on the second day. Brian Callahan, the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, was also questioned by the Titans. Less than a week after Strunk fired Vrabel, general manager Ran Carthon and Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk conducted the virtual interviews.

As the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants, Kafka joined Brian Daboll’s staff in 2022. As a quality control coach for the Kansas City Chiefs under Andy Reid, Kafka began his NFL coaching career in 2017. In 2018, Kafka was elevated to the position of quarterbacks coach with the Chiefs, a position he held until 2021. Working with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kafka was the pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2020–21. At least nine coaches have been contacted by the Titans for interviews: Callahan, interim coach Antonio Pierce of the Las Vegas Raiders, Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions, Mike Macdonald of the Baltimore Ravens, Dan Quinn of the Dallas Cowboys, Bobby Slowik of the Houston Texans, and Brian Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles.
