According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are one of several clubs interested in Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

The report also outlined that Celtic could face competition from at least three other Premier League clubs, with Brighton, Wolves and Brentford all showing an interest in the 25-year-old last summer. Liverpool however will demand a ‘fair transfer fee’ if Kelleher decides to leave.

Football Scotland also reported that the Irish international is believed to be on a ‘list of potential replacements for current number one Joe Hart, who is out of contract in the summer’.

Kelleher has featured eleven times for Liverpool this season, with five of those appearances coming in the Europa League, four in the Carabo Cup and two in the Premier League.

The ten time capped Irish international is valued at £12.90 million on transfermarkt, and according to Football Scotland, his current salary is understood to be outside Celtic’s wage structure.

A move for the Cork native would a highly ambitious step by the club, but it’s a move that remains unlikely unless the club believe that it’s a financial risk worth taking. It’s not often that that’s the case at Celtic, and that’s not always a bad thing.
