Miles Kitselman makes a move to Tennessee.
Tennessee has secured another offensive transfer, bolstering their tight end group. On Friday night, the Volunteers successfully added their second tight end from the transfer portal, aiming to strengthen the overall composition of the tight end room.
The commitment comes from Miles Kitselman, a 6’5, 250-pound junior transfer from Lyndon High School, previously with Alabama. Kitselman’s decision to join Tennessee follows Holden Staes, who transferred from Notre Dame.
With eligibility losses impacting McCallan Castles and Jacob Warren, Tennessee faced a void in the tight end position. The addition of two dependable transfers, including Kitselman, is significant for the team, particularly considering the youth of the existing tight end group. Kitselman’s veteran presence is seen as a valuable addition, providing Tennessee with 3-4 reliable options at tight end, alongside Staes, Davis, and Okoye. Despite not recording any receptions in his 13 games with the Crimson Tide, Kitselman may see more targets in Tennessee.
Known for utilizing their tight ends creatively, the Volunteers have incorporated players like Princeton Fant, Jacob Warren, and McCallan Castles in unique ways in recent seasons. The dynamics of the tight end position for the upcoming season remain uncertain, but Tennessee has successfully balanced and deepened this critical position group, addressing the team’s need for experience and depth, especially among their young student-athletes. The Volunteers’ tight end room now boasts a mix of seasoned players, freshmen, transfers, and overall playmakers.
