Cameron Carter-Vickers is a very important player for Celtic and his injuries this season have played a part in the club’s lack of consistency under Brendan Rodgers.
There is no doubt about it, he is the best defender in Scotland. That’s why he has won back-to-back titles at Celtic, including the domestic Treble last season.
The 26-year-old came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur, so he has tasted English Premier League football before and a recent transfer report suggests that has now been re-ignited.
The Daily Record have claimed that David Moyes’ West Ham United, alongside FFP-hit Nottingham Forest and struggling Brentford, want to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers.
What is slightly worrying is that the report suggests that those in the Parkhead boardroom are ‘bracing themselves for offers arriving’.
Not what the Celtic faithful want to hear because, whilst key players must remain at the club and sign new deals, such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.
The fact of the matter is, just like Jota in the summer, if the money is put on the table, then it’s pretty hard for the club to turn down.
So, it seems as though these might just prove to be testing times for a player that could possibly go to work under boyhood fan and ex-Hoops man, David Moyes.
