Odell Beckham Jr. queries Giants regarding Browns trade: desired to ‘f*** me over’
Even now, almost five years after the New York Giants traded him to the Cleveland Browns, Odell Beckham Jr. still believes that the Giants had bad intentions.
Speaking on “Punch Line Podcast,” colleague Marlon Humphrey’s podcast, the Ravens receiver revealed that he was still not happy with how his time with the Giants ended.

Regarding his 2019 remarks to Sports Illustrated, Beckham clarified his thoughts on the circumstance.
He admitted to the Punch Line Podcast, “There’s semi-a bit of me that feels like the Giants sent me off, I’ve said it before, sent me off to Cleveland to die.”
“I had the option to attend the 49ers, Patriots, or any other team that had the potential to be extremely successful, but that wasn’t their goal. “This was the best trade package we could have gotten for you,” you cannot claim. I feel like you kind of wanted to screw me over a little bit.
“You believe that I embarrassed you or the company, but that was never really my goal. I simply have a lot of rivalry. My goal was to triumph. I’ve always desired victory.”
What conditions did the agreement have?
In exchange for Jabrill Peppers, Kevin Zeitler, and first- and third-round draft picks in 2019, the Giants dealt Beckham to the Browns, which resulted in the selection of Dexter Lawrence and Oshane Ximines.
Beckham insisted that whatever behavior he was seen to be distracting was a result of his dissatisfaction with the Giants’ poor record during his time there, which included a 3-13 season prior to his trade.
Beckham makes it apparent that his only goal was for the club to succeed while expressing disappointment that the Giants didn’t adjust to better assist Eli Manning.
“I hope Eli wins another Super Bowl before he retires. We’re not going to surround him with the fragments. I was getting wasted too,” he said in closing.
Beckham highlighted the sense of resentment surrounding the Giants’ choice, recalling getting the trade news while in Paris for Drake’s tour. The wide receiver was traded one season after agreeing to a hefty contract extension, despite general manager Dave Gettleman’s earlier claims that Beckham was not signed to be traded.
