Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday are negotiating for a wing-back
Ipswich, a team chasing promotion from the Championship, is in negotiations with Sheffield Wednesday to sign Marvin Johnson, a wing-back.
After not even being registered to play under former manager Xisco Munoz, the 33-year-old has rejoined the Owls under head coach Danny Rohl.
The former Middlesbrough player, who helped Wednesday gain promotion to the Championship the previous season, inked a contract extension.
As of right moment, no contract has been agreed upon, and Wednesday is expected to demand payment.
In 13 games since Rohl added Johnson back to the team in November, Johnson has netted three goals for the Owls.
Johnson is eager to advance in his career and understands that a move to Ipswich may offer him an opportunity to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League, even though he likes and respects Rohl and would be sad to leave Hillsborough.
Wednesday is in the relegation zone and four points from safety, while Ipswich is three points clear of Southampton in the Championship.
