The legendary Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles has responded to rumors that he is retiring.
In the most recent installment of the New Heights podcast, which he and his brother Travis co-host, Jason detailed how Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni gave him permission to speak to the squad on Monday night about his future.
After the game, according to the All-Pro center, there was “too much emotion in the moment” for him to fully process the choice to retire.
It’s just that, Jason continued, you know that when the time comes to formally announce what’s going to happen in the future, it will be done in a way that is both definite and respectful to many individuals who have meant a great deal to me.
Jason gave his address in response to reports that, following the Eagles’ 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he had informed his teammates that he was retiring.
