Candidates for Eagles Offensive Coordinator: 5 Individuals to Monitor in the Event of Nick Sirianni’s Continuation.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, in collaboration with general manager Howie Roseman, has been actively contacting potential candidates for his coaching staff in 2024, as reported by Dianna Russini of The Athletic. While there’s no certainty that Sirianni will return for the 2024 season after a challenging finish to his third season, he is expected to have the opportunity to state his case.

On the defensive side, Sean Desai holds the title of defensive coordinator but had play-calling duties revoked in mid-December, likely influenced by higher-ups. With the defensive performance under scrutiny, the Eagles are likely to have a new defensive coordinator in 2024.

The offensive scenario is less clear. Despite Brian Johnson’s history as quarterbacks coach and his role in developing Jalen Hurts, his offensive approach has faced criticism. It seems unlikely that Sirianni would secure a fourth season if he plans to retain Johnson as the offensive coordinator. Therefore, Johnson may be let go in the coming days.

Sirianni, despite his offensive background, didn’t call plays during his three years as offensive coordinator with the Indianapolis Colts. If he aims for a do-or-die season in 2024, he might take on the role of offensive play caller. However, to ensure his survival until 2024, hiring a promising offensive coordinator is crucial.

Five potential candidates for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator position, assuming Sirianni stays on as coach, include:

1. Frank Reich: Former Head Coach, Indianapolis Colts – A familiar face, having been the Eagles’ offensive coordinator during their Super Bowl-winning seasons.

2. Eric Bieniemy: Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator, Washington Commanders – A highly regarded coach with ties to Andy Reid and previous playing experience with the Eagles.

3. Klint Kubiak: Passing Game Coordinator, San Francisco 49ers – Son of Super Bowl-winning coach Gary Kubiak, offering a lifetime of exposure to offensive strategies.

4. Cam Turner: Quarterbacks Coach, Indianapolis Colts – A coach with experience in quarterback development and connections to the Eagles organization.

5. Kellen Moore: Offensive Coordinator, Los Angeles Chargers – Former Cowboys offensive coordinator, who may be seeking a new opportunity in 2024.
