According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Rangers are closely monitoring Hearts star Lawrence Shankland but might have to wait until the summer.
Transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke disclosed on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast that the talisman has been given a “record-breaking deal” to remain at Tynecastle, but he has not yet agreed to new terms.
It’s thought that the Gers will try to entice Shankland to Ibrox if he doesn’t sign a new contract with the Hearts.
Rangers are closely monitoring the Scotland international’s circumstances in Edinburgh, but it would be challenging to finalize a deal this month.
Shankland, who has scored 18 goals in 28 games in all competitions for the Jambos, is the highest scorer in the Scottish premier division this season.
After continuously successful seasons with Hearts, the center-forward has been linked to a move to the Glasgow giants on multiple occasions.
