Ridvan Yilmaz is pushing to leave Rangers after talks with the Turkey manager over their Euro 2024 squad, according to eyebrow-raising reports in the player’s homeland.

Left-back Yilmaz has been heavily linked with a move away from Ibrox this month and there’s been interest from Hellas Verona in Italy. More recently though it’s been Galatasaray making the headlines where he is concerned and Turkish media are high on the narrative that a return home – where he made his senior breakthrough after 13 years at Besiktas – could be big for his chances of playing at the Euros.

Reports have mostly been hinged on the fact he isn’t first choice at Rangers but he recently has been under Philippe Clement, ousting Borna Barisic and starting their last four league games. And there will also almost certainly be chances over the coming months with Gers still competing on all fronts, including in the Europa League.
