2024 Breakout Player of the Year for the Cardinals: TE The McBride Trey

Now that the Arizona Cardinals’ season is over, it is time to present some honors. Along with revealing the rosters for the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro teams, the NFL also revealed some awards.

We have selected the defensive player of the year, rookie of the year, and MVP for the Cardinals.

Which player emerged as the Cardinals’ most promising performer of 2023?

This is a simple response. Trey McBride, a tight end in his second year, is the only player you can select.

For the team, McBride set tight end single-season records.

With 81 receptions, he shattered the previous record of 56 tight end receptions set for a single-season franchise record. That came after he had only eight receptions in the first five games of the season.

If he had played every game of the season the way he did in the last ten, he would have finished with 112 catches for more than 1,100 yards.

The only other tight end reception yardage in franchise history that surpassed his 825 yards was Jackie Smith, the Hall of Famer, who recorded 1,205 yards in 1967.

He became one of the league’s top tight ends. In 2024, he must accomplish this over the course of a whole season; however, if he succeeds, he will deserve to be considered among the NFL’s greatest players, along with Mark Andrews, Travis Kelce, and George Kittle.
