Rangers manager Philippe Clement says it’s ridiculous that there are five players without contracts and is pushing for an improved transfer system.

While lamenting the “crazy situation” in which five Rangers players are out of contract in the summer, Philippe Clement has acknowledged that he hopes to see an improved transfer strategy at the team.

At the end of the season, first-team players Leon Balogun, Borna Barisic, John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, and Kemar Roofe will all go unless the Ibrox club extends an offer to them that they accept.

The Govan club has made over £30 million from the sales of players like midfielder Joe Aribo to Southampton, defender Calvin Bassey to Ajax, and Glen Kamara to Leeds last summer. However, the club did not profit from the likes of former attackers Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos when they were at their best.

Thus far in the January transfer window, the manager of the Gers has only added Portuguese striker Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves.

Before Saturday’s Scottish Cup fourth-round matchup between Dumbarton and the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup at the Dumbarton Football Stadium, he was eager to discuss a more progressive transfer policy.

e players this season aren’t under contract because that means money wasted. If the contract is terminated, they are no longer worth anything.

“I am aware that our club is not the richest in the world. We want to bring in transfers who will not only benefit the team immediately but also build value over the course of the following few years and be able to command higher prices when sold.

“This is something that the club has lacked over the past few years, as you can see. They didn’t have many large outward transfers, which prevented them from receiving funding for other endeavors.

As odd as it seems for a manager to discuss that, that is one of the goals. I want to assist in that way so the club can develop on all fronts.

“Although it is currently a loan, I would want to buy Fabio, but he was too pricey.

“The team has a nice mix of youthful players who can be developed to a higher level than Glasgow Rangers and good, experienced guys. That’s the aim. Additionally, you must have players with contracts.

“There is a lot of work to be done in that regard; everyone in the club is exerting a great deal of effort in this regard to have a clear idea of how to generate revenue for the team by growing players while also producing outcomes and winning awards.

“You don’t have the situation where you have players of value going free at the end of contract – it can never happen.”

In January, Ridvan Yilmas might go from Rangers.

Clement was questioned once more about Ridvan Yilmaz, who supposedly told the Belgian that he wants to leave Rangers for Galatasaray. In January, Yilmaz was linked to a move.

The Ibrox manager emphasized that the 22-year-old Turkey left-back was dedicated to the cause, nevertheless.

“If he wasn’t committed, he wouldn’t have played in friendlies against Hertha or Copenhagen,” he stated.

“He wouldn’t be on the field if he wasn’t dedicated to the team and his duties here.

“As of right moment, none of the players seem to be hurrying out of the building.

“I feel everyone is really involved in the club and what is going on here but it doesn’t mean that it can’t change tomorrow.”

The winter transfer window is now open and will end on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at midnight in Scotland and 11 p.m. in England.

The closure dates were determined after talks with the EFL, DFL, Serie A, LaLiga, and LFP, who will all close their summer and winter windows on January 1 and February 1, respectively, to guarantee synchronization with the main leagues in Europe.
