Julian Sayin, a former Alabama quarterback, commits to Ohio State and discusses his choice.

Julian Sayin, a transfer from Alabama and a former quarterback for Carlsbad, California, has committed to Ohio State.

Sayin enrolled early and signed a contract with the Tide during the early signing period. He was allowed to train with the squad in the run-up to the Rose Bowl and participate in Bowl Prep.

A few days after Nick Saban’s retirement earlier in the month, former Washington head coach Kalin DeBoer was hired. Sayin spoke with the new Husky employees and thought about remaining for Spring Ball, but ultimately made the decision to use the transfer link.

Thadd MacNeal, the head coach of Carlsbad, said, “He signed to play for Nick Saban.” “He was very close to coach Saban and Tommy Rees; those were his guys and the people he was close to.”

“He didn’t know the new staff at all, but it wasn’t anything against them when they came in.” Although he had some acquaintance with Ryan Grubb (OC), and he had extended an offer to him at Washington, Julian decided it was better for him to move on since he had no connection with either DeBoer or Ryan.

When Sayin committed to Alabama, Ohio State was at the top of his list.

According to MacNeal, “they were actually No. 2 for him.” They really came in second, and as far as I’m aware, he went at least twice. He loved the offense, Ryan Day, and how quarterback-friendly he is.

“Ohio State has done a fantastic job producing quarterbacks, and Julian has a lot of respect for (WR coach Brian) Hartline.” He was active in Julian’s recruitment, and Ohio State has a fantastic wide receiver room, which is clearly very important to quarterbacks.

Sayin is acquainted with Bill O’Brien, the new Ohio State offensive coordinator.

According to MacNeal, “O’Brien actually offered Julian when he was at Bama.” Before moving on, he developed a positive friendship with him and showed affection for him.

Julian is eager to learn from him since he is someone Julian knows and has encountered on our campus. From a football perspective, Julian got along incredibly well with him and he has experience in the NFL.

For Sayin, the winning history of the Buckeyes was also a factor.

According to MacNeal, “He wants to compete for a National Championship.” “Ohio State is clearly one of the few universities that was constructed in such manner. They have a fantastic history of winning and a strong possibility of qualifying for the playoffs each year going forward.

“Jeremiah Smith, who is a very special talent, is one of the players they’re bringing in, and Julian knows a lot of them.” He’s ecstatic since this is a fantastic chance for him.

Sayin has already arrived on school and is prepared to participate as soon as Spring Ball begins.

MacNeal said, “He’s there now and moving in.” “Julian wants to settle down, study the playbook, and be prepared for class, which I suppose will begin in a few weeks.

“While Julian isn’t scared to compete with anybody, there were no guarantees about playing time right away. He is aware that they have a capable quarterback in place, but his objective is to arrive and be prepared to play, and I firmly believe he is.
