Kieran’s Perspective on the Signing of Sarmiento
Manager Kieran McKenna expressed satisfaction with the recent addition of Jeremy Sarmiento to the team. The attacking player became Ipswich Town’s initial signing in the January transfer window, joining on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion and taking the number 21 shirt. Sarmiento commenced training with the squad earlier this week, and McKenna is pleased with the prospect of his potential debut against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup on Saturday.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jeremy to the team,” stated the Town boss. “We are familiar with him, having observed his performances for Brighton last season, and Martyn (Pert) has watched him live on several occasions, engaging in extensive discussions with the family. Jeremy is an exceptionally talented player with high potential, and we are eager to integrate him into the team to help him realize that potential.
“We believe he aligns well with our team culture and is a dedicated professional who suits our style of play. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Regarding Sarmiento’s initial integration into the squad, McKenna commented, “The timing has worked out well since the Stoke game. He had individual training on Wednesday and joined the group on Thursday. This allowed him to meet everyone and offers a good opportunity for seamless integration into both training and upcoming matches.”
