Amon-Ra St. Brown, OVER 91.5 yards gained through reception (-130)
Even though this is the All-Pro’s highest yardage total betting line of the season, I still favor the over, and it will be very difficult for me to avoid anything Amon-Ra St. Brown related.
Over the past five weeks, St. Brown’s performance has been exceptional:
Wild Card versus. Rams: 110 yards from 7 catches on 9 targets
Week 18: 7 catches on 10 targets for 144 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings
Week 17: Six catches on eight targets for ninety yards and a touchdown at Dallas
Week 16: 12 catches on 14 targets for 106 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings
Week 15: 7 catches on 9 targets for 112 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos
Furthermore, the last time the Buccaneers and Lions faced off…
Week 6: 12 catches on 15 targets for 144 yards and a score against the Bucs
In big games, big players step up, and St. Brown has often demonstrated his status as a major player.
For those who are interested, St. Brown’s “anytime touchdown” is currently at -105 and his “OVER 7.5 receptions” is at -130.
Jameson Williams, more than 35.5 yards in receptions (-115)
While it will undoubtedly be part of the plan against the Bucs, the Lions demonstrated their willingness to take chances with Jameson Williams by using his speed to stretch the Rams’ zone in the Wild Card. Williams ended up with just two receptions for 19 yards.
We should take a close look at the 49ers’ desperate need for another game-winning play.
During Week 6, which was Williams’ second game back from suspension, Jared Goff found him for a 45-yard touchdown reception.
However, Williams has been included more into Detroit’s weekly game plan, so it’s not just deep shots. Williams caught two passes for 69 yards against the Cowboys, five passes for 43 yards against the Vikings, and four passes for 47 yards against the Broncos in his three games before the playoffs.
If they test the Bucs secondary once again this week, don’t be shocked.
Sam LaPorta, more than 42.5 yards of reception (-115)
The Bucs limited LaPorta to just four receptions for 36 yards in Week 6, but that was his second-highest target total of the year as he was targeted 11 times. Although the Bucs defeated the All-Pro rookie in that particular game, they had been giving up yards to tight ends the whole season.
As I mentioned last week in my piece “Keys to Victory”:
“The Bucs’ season-long surrender of 102 receptions, 1077 receiving yards (averaging 63.4 yards), and seven touchdowns to tight ends ranks them among the league’s lowest five performances. LaPorta might have a huge day if the Lions can put him in beneficial matchups, such as away from (LaVonte) David, like they did against the Rams.
Although LaPorta’s wager line has increased, I still believe that it is within his reach at 35.5 receiving yards, which was a good starting point for him.
