The Philadelphia Eagles’ season started with talk of going back to the Super Bowl, which is something they don’t accomplish very frequently after losing the previous season. But did Philly’s aspirations finally materialize?
Offensive lineman Landon Dickerson stated, “The biggest thing is that we’re not focused on the Super Bowl when the season starts, and even going into the playoff game, we weren’t focused on the Super Bowl, we were focused on that playoff game.”
“In this league, you have to have that mindset. You cannot simply assume that just because you were there the previous year, you will return.
“Every NFL club has an expiration date of one year, and this team’s expiration has passed. It’s highly unlikely that this team will ever come together again. Every year, a new squad is assembled, and each time, players are expected to desire to work hard and improve every day.
As players cleared out their lockers and prepared for the offseason on Wednesday, left tackle Jordan Mailata also dismissed the hangover from the Super Bowl. He claimed to be “Super Bowl hungry.”
He said, “I have no idea what the (bleep) a (Super Bowl hangover) is.” It must be a (bleeping) conspiracy, I suppose. similar to the JFK one. I say that because I didn’t feel like I was suffering from a hangover. I knew it was a completely new season, but all I wanted to do was go back there.
Our squad was completely new. Our coaching staff was all new, and they were calling plays. As for me, personally, I didn’t have a (bleeping) hangover. I was quite hungry for the Super Bowl. I’m dying to watch the Super Bowl.”
“It’s hard to go to a Super Bowl, whether you went there the year before or not,” was all Jason Kelce had to say.
To put it another way, he didn’t think it was a postponed hangover.
“Everyone will try to take players off your staff, take people off your staff, and take plays that you’re making whenever you go to a Super Bowl,” said Kelce. It’s challenging to experience repeat success year after year because everyone is observing your offensive actions.
believe there are numerous contributing factors. There are many factors, including luck, that go into winning a Super Bowl. it’s just kind of how things are; I don’t think I earned any of it in the last year.
Kelce thinks the season might have changed after the team’s defeat to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Eagles defeated the Buffalo Bills 10-1 despite needing to play overtime. After a 10-day break, the 49ers easily defeated Philly, 42–19. In that game, the Eagles took no action to defeat themselves. They didn’t foul out a lot or give the ball over frequently.
