Zalance Heard formally declares the transfer to Tennessee.

On Sunday morning, the Tennessee Volunteers received significant news. Zalance Heard, the LSU offensive tackle who had been leaning towards Tennessee for a while, appeared in the student directory over the weekend, just before classes commenced on Tuesday. Taking to social media on Sunday morning, Heard officially confirmed his decision.

Ranked as the No. 15 prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, Heard participated in twelve games in the previous season and still has three years of eligibility. Many anticipate that he will assume the role of the starting left tackle for the Vols in the upcoming season.

Tennessee football has transitioned into the offseason, focusing on shaping the roster for the 2023 season after concluding the previous one. Volunteer Country provides fans with the latest updates on portal entries and NFL Draft declarations. The portal window extends from December 4 to January 2, and if players don’t transfer within that timeframe, they must wait until May, following spring practice, to enter the transfer portal.
