Rams prioritize a “impact” pass rusher in the NFL Draft, according to Mel Kiper Jr.’s mock draft.

This summer, the Los Angeles Rams have a ton of alternatives at their disposal.

The Rams have a chance to take an already significantly improved club and make it a genuine contender this spring and summer with over $27 million in cap space and their first first-round choice since 2016 (Jared Goff at No. 1).

Fortifying themselves up front along the defensive line—where they have skill but are relatively thin—would be one way to achieve it.

Mel Kiper Jr., an NFL Draft expert for ESPN, claims that the Rams plan to use their No. 19 overall selection for precisely that.

Jared Verse, a great pass rusher for the Florida State Seminoles, is expected to be selected by the Rams, according to Kiper. Verse would fit in well alongside Aaron Donald, Byron Young, and Kobie Turner.

If the Rams choose Verse, they would have one of the most promising young defensive front groupings in the NFL straight away, led by one of the greatest defensive linemen in history in Donald.

Additionally, it would provide them a chance at a bright future in the event that Donald decides to hang up his boots; the Rams will keep an eye out for this possibility every summer from now on.

In any case, Verse could have an instant impact and would be a valued addition to the team.
