Josh Heupel solidifying his status as a top quarterback

Head coach Josh Heupel travels with elite offenses in tow. Heupel scored points in every program he worked with, from his playing days at Oklahoma to managing the Missouri Tigers to bringing UCF and Tennessee back to life. These stats draw elite quarterbacks, and Heupel solidified his reputation as one of the best coaches by turning Hendon Hooker into one of the top-75 picks in the NFL Draft. He strengthened his position by bringing in quarterback Nico Iamaleava, a rising star.

He now has a collegiate football scholarship to the University of Tennessee, where he will play for the nation’s third-ranked quarterback. For the first time in the modern rankings period, the Vols received a commitment from two five-star quarterbacks in as many seasons when George MacIntyre, the quarterback from Brentwood Academy, chose them over Alabama on Monday morning.

The impact Heupel has had on quarterbacks is difficult to dispute. Under Heupel’s direction, Hooker, McKenzie Milton, Drew Lock, and Joe Milton III all turned in their best football performances and, in one way or another, won national championships. The output on the field speaks for itself, and they are now hiring for the role more effectively than practically any other program in America. Top quarterback prospects can also be found at Ohio State, Texas, and USC, but Tennessee’s Heupel is making noise there.
