Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel and linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary were in Texas on Wednesday to visit a four-star recruit that’s set to announce his commitment on Friday.

Heupel and Jean-Mary checked in on 2025 four-star Kelvion Riggins, 6-foot/205 lbs from Forney, TX.

Riggins, who visited Tennessee in November for the Vols’ game against Georgia, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 26 linebacker in the nation and the No. 36 player in the talent-rich state of Texas.

Several programs are in the mix for Riggins, but this appears to be a battle between Texas A&M and Tennessee.

The Aggies are likely the favorites because of the distance factor (College Station is three hours away from his hometown, compared to Knoxville which is 12.5 hours away). But the Vols are certainly hoping for some good news, as evidenced by Heupel’s visit this week.

Tennessee currently has six players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 9 in the nation.
