Ipswich Town’s manager, Kieran McKenna, states that the team is diligently working off the field to secure the services of a new striker.

Due to George Hirst’s absence following hamstring surgery, the return of Dane Scarlett to Tottenham, and Freddie Ladapo being loaned out to Charlton, Ipswich Town finds themselves with only Kayden Jackson as a recognized striker. Efforts to secure players such as Jay Stansfield (Fulham), Sam Gallagher (Blackburn), and Kieffer Moore (Bournemouth) have faced obstacles, and with just eight days remaining in the transfer window, the situation is becoming critical.

Following a 1-1 draw with Leicester City that allowed Ipswich Town to reclaim second place in the Championship table, manager McKenna expressed his intention to discuss the transfer situation with chief executive Mark Ashton the next morning. Despite the challenges, McKenna emphasized the club’s determination to strengthen the squad within the existing limitations to remain competitive in the tough league.

Regarding Brandon Williams, who returned to Manchester United for a “medical assessment,” McKenna provided an update, stating that Williams is still under the care of Manchester United’s medical team. The timeframe for his return to Ipswich Town remains uncertain, with McKenna expressing hope that Williams can regain fitness and contribute in the later stages of the season, although it is unclear if that will be the case.
