The Cincinnati Bengals are positioned as one of the top contenders to acquire Derrick Henry in the upcoming free agency period.

In Cincinnati, there’s speculation about the Bengals potentially pursuing former All-Pro running back Derrick Henry. According to Bookies.com, the Bengals rank third in the odds to sign the 30-year-old, trailing only the Patriots (+350). The odds place Cincinnati ahead of seven other teams, with only New England and the overall field (+450) having better chances.

Henry, who amassed 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns for Tennessee this season, faces free agency in March, a first-time experience in his career, especially with the Titans undergoing changes after Mike Vrabel’s departure. Despite his impressive track record, questions arise about whether Henry aligns with the Bengals’ style. Notably, his receiving abilities aren’t his forte, and considering his caliber, he might demand a higher salary than the Bengals are willing to offer an aging running back.

Moreover, for Henry to join the Bengals, they would likely need to part ways with veteran running back Joe Mixon, who remains under contract for 2024. While the notion of Henry joining the Bengals may pique interest, the feasibility of such a move appears doubtful.
