Premier League side Tottenham were previously offered the chance to sign Mohamed Diomande, who has now completed a move to Rangers, Ibrox News has learned.

Rangers signed Diomande from FC Nordsjaelland on a loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer for an undisclosed cost, according to the team’s official X account on January 26.

The 22-year-old will travel to Glasgow as soon as his application for a work permit is approved.

Philippe Clement has pulled off a huge coup because Diomande was previously being considered by a few elite Premier League teams.

Ibrox News has learned from a recruitment source with strong ties to Scandinavian football that Diomande was previously offered to Spurs.

Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, appears to have dropped a hint, as the midfield player is currently traveling to Scotland.

During his stay in Denmark, Diomande made over 100 appearances for FC Nordsjaelland.

Upon his arrival in the Scottish Premiership, the accomplished player—who has competed internationally for the Ivory Coast Under-23s—will be seeking to advance in his career.

This season, he has made 21 appearances in all competitions and has five assists, one of which came in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Clement will be hoping that Diomande, a player who can play both as a central midfielder and further forward in offensive areas, can aid the Gers in their pursuit of Celtic.

With a game remaining against their bitter rivals, Clement’s team is five points behind the Hoops, who are currently leading the league.
