Here are some interesting observations on the names involved as the Cleveland Browns apparently interview another candidate for offensive coordinator and make a defensive appointment.

Shortly after the season concluded, the Cleveland Browns fired offensive coordinators TC McCartney, Stump Mitchell, and Alex Van Pelt. Two of those roles have reportedly been filled by Tommy Rees, the tight ends coach, and new running back Duce Staley.
Kellen Moore was the most recent offensive coordinator applicant to interview with the Browns. Moore was the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator before to joining the Chargers this season.

During the 2022 season, the NFLPA held discussions with players from all throughout the league on a range of themes within each club. This past offseason, the report card was made public. The NFLPA asked questions regarding coordinators this season in an effort to expand the survey and the report cards that were generated from the players’ comments.

J.C. Tretter, president of the NFLPA, discussed the outcomes with ESPN earlier this month. The previous year’s report card survey saw a very high level of participation, but we wanted to consider other areas that are important to guys on a daily basis. Thus, it was suggested that the coordinators be evaluated. As a player, they play a significant role in your daily existence, thus we wanted to give players a say in highlighting the excellent ones.”

As was the case last year, Tretter reported that over 1,700 players completed the report card survey. The results will be made public in the vicinity of the scouting combine in late February or early March. To provide some of the potential candidates for head coach positions some positive publicity, the union did, however, wish to release the lists of the top five coordinators prior to the annual hiring process.
