Defensive lineman Jaxson Moi from Stanford has become Tennessee’s second transfer portal commitment of the day. After spending this past weekend in Knoxville, Moi reaffirmed his preference for Tennessee over Washington.

On Sunday, Moi announced the news via X.

Following his sophomore year at Stanford, the 6-2, 303-pound defensive tackle is entering his final season. He will be able to play in Knoxville for the next two seasons.

According to 247Sports, the San Diego, California native was a three-star prospect out of high school and ranked 541st overall in the class.

Last season, Moi played in all 12 Stanford games, starting seven of them, including the final six games. He finished the season with 15 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Moi recorded 4.5 stops for loss in his rookie season.

When Kalen DeBoer jetted out of Washington for an official visitation to Alabama, his recruitment out of the portal took a different turn. Rodney Garner was able to enter Tennessee through that opening and add another large body to his room.

Omari Thomas and Omarr Norman-Lott will be back for Tennessee in the middle of the defense. Tyre West, Daevin Hobbs, Dominic Bailey, and Bryson Eason will also be important players in 2024. Garner is still growing and getting stronger, and Moi provides them with another experienced player to add to the rotation.
