Highly-ranked offensive tackle Carter Lowe has made a commitment to join Ohio State.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have successfully secured the commitment of offensive tackle Carter Lowe for their 2025 recruiting class, providing valuable reinforcement to a position in need.
Carter Lowe, a four-star offensive tackle, has chosen to join the Ohio State Buckeyes for the upcoming 2025 season. Lowe revealed his commitment to the Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon, opting for the Scarlet and Gray over competing offers from the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Michigan Wolverines.
Expressing his decision, Lowe emphasized the distinctive culture at Ohio State, citing it as a pivotal factor in his choice. He praised the welcoming atmosphere and highlighted the strong relationships he developed with Coach Day and Coach Frye, which played a significant role in his decision-making process.
For Lowe, the transition to Ohio State is not a considerable distance, given his current residence near Toledo, Ohio, and attendance at Whitmer High School. A little over two hours’ drive will separate him from his roots in the northern parts of the state.
Lowe spoke highly of the recruiting experience with the Buckeyes, emphasizing the positive impression made by offensive line coach Justin Frye, who made him feel valued right from their initial meeting.
Considered a crucial addition to the 2025 recruiting class, Lowe holds an impressive ranking as the No. 85 player nationally, the No. 9 offensive tackle, and the No. 3 player in Ohio according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Before making the leap to the college level in 2025, Lowe is set to play his senior year at Whitmer High, further honing his skills and preparing for the challenges ahead.
