NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports that the Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns, and Detroit Pistons are considering trades for forward Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets.
Bridges’ contract includes a no-trade clause that allows him to choose where he is traded.
Along with Detroit and Phoenix, the Jazz are among the teams that have contacted Miles Bridges, a forward for the Charlotte Hornets, according to league sources that spoke with Yahoo Sports. “Bridges signed a qualifying offer from Charlotte and received a no-trade clause; therefore, he would have to be consulted before any deal was made.”
This season, Bridges is earning $7.9 million. He is shooting 45.5% from the field, 35.5% from outside the arc, and 86.6% from the free-throw line while dishing out 20.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.5 blocks on average.
With the exception of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams, the Hornets are willing to trade any player on their roster. Terry Rozier was just dealt by Charlotte to the Miami Heat.
Bridges has career averages of 14.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks. He missed the whole 2022–2023 season. In the 2018 NBA Draft, he was selected as the twelfth overall pick by Michigan State.
The deadline for NBA trades is February 8. Given that they have the third-worst record in the East, it is believed that the Hornets will be sellers. Despite having the poorest record in the NBA, the Pistons could be buyers because Bridges and Chicago Bulls player Zach LaVine have been connected to them.
