Oklahoma is showing increasing interest in four-star running back Tory Blaylock following his attendance at OU Junior Day.

Fresh off securing the top-ranked running back in the nation for the 2024 cycle with Taylor Tatum, DeMarco Murray is once again fully engaged in recruiting efforts for the 2025 Recruiting Class at Oklahoma.

The Sooners’ running back coach has consistently excelled on the recruiting trail since assuming the role, and it seems he’s only improving further.

The upcoming 2025 class presents Murray with new prospects, new connections to establish, and new obstacles to overcome. Given Oklahoma’s depth at running back, it’s unlikely they’ll recruit three backs as they did in 2024, but that doesn’t mean they’ll compromise on quality.

Tory Blaylock, among Texas’ standout running backs, has captured Oklahoma’s attention. Apparently, his junior day experience at the Sooners went exceptionally well. Three Rivals FutureCasts have been logged in favor of Blaylock choosing Oklahoma.

OUInsider’s Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm, along with Landyn Rosow, covering the Texas A&M Aggies for Rivals, have all predicted Blaylock’s commitment to Oklahoma.

Blaylock’s active presence on social media during his visit, coupled with his apparent enjoyment of Norman with his family, indicates positive sentiments.

Standing at five-foot-eleven, Blaylock is an all-purpose back with a track background. As a freshman, he clocked several sub-11.00 100-meter times, including 10.70 and 10.83. He exhibits explosiveness, strength, and the ability to catch passes out of the backfield, making him a versatile threat.

Oklahoma’s efforts during Junior Day seem to have resonated with Blaylock and his family, positioning the Sooners well to secure their first running back commitment for the 2025 class.

Blaylock boasts an NFL lineage, with his father, Derrick Blaylock, having played five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets after his collegiate career at Stephen F. Austin.

While the Oklahoma Sooners currently lack a committed running back for the 2025 cycle, if the FutureCasts predictions hold true, they could soon celebrate their first addition to the class.
