Michigan election 2024: Important dates and deadlines
This week marks the commencement of Michigan’s 2024 election season with a special primary election for two vacant seats in the state’s House of Representatives. The 13th and 25th District positions became available after former state Representatives Lori Stone, a Democrat from Warren, and Kevin Coleman, a Democrat from Westland, secured mayoral victories in Warren and Westland in 2023.
Looking ahead, Michigan voters will participate in the presidential primary in February, followed by the August primary and the November general election. Alongside choosing the next president and local representatives, voters in Michigan will also decide on a successor to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat from Lansing. Furthermore, all 13 seats in the U.S. House and the complete roster of 110 members in the Michigan House of Representatives are up for election.
