Speculation suggests that Ken Dorsey will join the Cleveland Browns as the offensive coordinator after parting ways with the Buffalo Bills.
The Cleveland Browns have chosen to hire Ken Dorsey as their offensive coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Dorsey, the former offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, was dismissed from his position in November during his second season in that role and fifth overall with Buffalo.
The decision to bring in Dorsey followed a successful interview with the Browns a week prior. Ian Rapoport notes that the 42-year-old left a positive impression on the team, prompting them to swiftly secure his services and prevent him from exploring other opportunities. Before the reported agreement with the Browns, Dorsey was scheduled to interview for the offensive coordinator position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as revealed by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Dorsey’s termination from the Bills occurred after a 24-22 loss to the Denver Broncos, leaving Buffalo with a 5-5 record. The team’s offensive struggles in the first 10 games of the season prompted Bills head coach Sean McDermott to make the change, emphasizing the need for a confident and consistently productive offensive unit.
Despite Dorsey’s departure, the Bills rallied, winning six of their final seven games and securing a spot in the playoffs. However, their postseason journey ended in the divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Browns, coming off an 11-6 season, parted ways with former offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt and several assistants just two days after their playoff defeat to the Houston Texans. Dorsey, a former quarterback, had previously spent three seasons with the Browns as a player from 2006 to 2008.
