Raiders expand their search for a new coach
The Las Vegas Raiders’ decision to appoint Antonio Pierce as the full-time coach for 2024 highlighted the limited scope of their hiring process. The only other candidates considered were Leslie Frazier and Kris Richard, and both were interviewed to fulfill the Rooney Rule, which mandates two in-person interviews with diverse candidates for head coaching positions. However, Frazier and Richard were both out of the league in 2023, indicating that the search was not exhaustive.
This focused approach, centered on hiring Pierce, may not necessarily be negative, but it suggests a more targeted selection process. The question arises: do you support this approach, or would you prefer Las Vegas owner Mark Davis to conduct a broader and more traditional search involving multiple candidates?
