Westfield kicker Brody Boehm is set to join the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

One of the premier kickers in the region has decided to pursue college football in the Southeastern Conference.

Brody Boehm, a senior kicker/punter from Westfield, announced his commitment to Missouri on Monday night following a weekend visit. Boehm will join the SEC program as a preferred walk-on.

“I’m excited to embark on a new journey at Mizzou,” Boehm expressed. “My visit to the school really captured my interest in every aspect.”

Missouri has a track record of success with kickers from Indiana. Harrison Mevis, who won the Mr. Football award for kicker in 2019, famously kicked a 61-yard field goal to secure a 30-27 victory over Kansas State, setting an SEC record in the process. Mevis later declared for the NFL draft after establishing Missouri’s all-time scoring record, making 86-of-103 field goal attempts and 145-of-146 extra points.

Boehm, who had interest from Appalachian State as a punter, opted for the opportunity to handle kicking duties. During his senior year, he made 6 out of 12 field goals and 48 out of 49 extra points. Additionally, he recorded touchbacks on 45 of his 67 kickoffs and averaged 37.3 yards per punt.

Being a versatile kicker is advantageous, Boehm noted. “It broadens the scope of opportunities with different colleges.”

Missouri’s roster includes sophomore kicker Blake Craig, a record-setter from Liberty North High School in Kansas City. Craig, with 45 career field goals in high school, presents competition for Boehm.

“He’s talented,” Boehm acknowledged. “We’ll push each other to improve every day.”

Boehm, recognized as a US Army All-American in his senior year, shares the spotlight with Spencer Porath, a Purdue commit from Brownsburg. Porath, ranked as the 13th best kicker in the nation by Kohl’s Kicking Camps, is closely followed by Boehm at No. 16 in the 2024 class rankings.

The regular signing period for football commences on Feb. 7.
