Fresh Information Regarding Arthur Smith’s Agreement With the Steelers

PITTSBURGH — Reports indicate that the Pittsburgh Steelers have selected their new offensive coordinator. Former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has reportedly reached a tentative agreement with the Steelers this week, though the official announcement is pending.

Recent insights reveal specifics about Smith’s upcoming contract with the Steelers. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette disclosed that Smith’s yet-to-be-signed contract will span three years.

This proposed three-year deal mirrors the reported contract of former Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who joined the team in 2020 and was under contract through the 2023 season.

Smith, who interviewed with the Steelers earlier this week, gained prominence primarily from his successful tenure with the Tennessee Titans. During his time there, he notably orchestrated a formidable rushing offense with Derrick Henry and revitalized the career of quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Aged 41, Smith served as the Falcons’ head coach for the past three seasons until his departure this offseason. Prior to his Atlanta stint, he ascended through the ranks within the Tennessee Titans organization, holding various coaching positions from quality control to offensive coordinator over a span of 10 years (2011-2020).

The decision to bring in Smith follows the Steelers’ dismissal of Matt Canada after a disappointing Week 11 loss to the Cleveland Browns, during which the team only scored 10 points.
