The Ravens remain in a state of disbelief and disappointment following their loss to the Chiefs in the AFC title game, describing the feeling as incomplete.
While clearing out their lockers on Monday in Owings Mills, the Ravens were organizing their belongings, including shoes, sports equipment, books, and mementos from the season. Amidst this, a game of Connect Four was left on a nearby coffee table. The locker room, which had been a bustling center of activity for the past five months, was anticipated to remain lively as the players geared up for the ultimate goal of the season – the Super Bowl.
The 33-year-old Zeitler expresses his readiness and optimism about being part of the Ravens in the upcoming year.
“I’m prepared and eager to move forward, and I hope to continue as a Raven next year,” he stated. “Hopefully, the business side of football can be swiftly resolved, and we can address that.”
There could be potential changes in the Ravens’ coaching and front office staff, with defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald reportedly being considered for head coach positions with the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders.
Despite potential changes, a significant portion of Baltimore’s core is expected to return. Quarterback Lamar Jackson, widely considered for the NFL Most Valuable Player, will be back, along with defensive pillars Hamilton and linebacker Roquan Smith.
The team’s tight ends, as well as receivers Rashod Bateman and rookie Zay Flowers, are anticipated to return. Flowers, despite a critical fumble in Sunday’s loss, remains focused on the future. Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum is set to anchor the offensive line for years to come.
Flowers, in the midst of cleaning out his locker on Monday, was asked about shifting his focus to the next season. “I’ve already done that,” he responded.
