Sydney van Hooijdonk of Bologna has been linked to a move to Celtic, and his team was eager to close a deal with Brendan Rodgers’ team in the winter transfer window.

Voetbal International provided an explanation on Tuesday of why Celtic was lagging behind Norwich City in the trade race.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly a step away from signing a loan agreement with Norwich City that includes a buyout option, according to Alfredo Pedullà.

The 23-year-old and his group chose the Championship team after waiting for Celtic. Tutto Bologna is reporting at least that.
This season, Van Hooijdonk’s playing time has been limited to 382 minutes in 11 games. He and his team have been assessing the best way for him to depart the Serie A team.

The striker’s agency is rumored to have been waiting for Brendan Rodgers’ team to make a firm move, particularly because joining Celtic has been his “family’s real target.”

The Dutchman is “one step away” from joining Norwich City since Celtic doesn’t seem to have made the strong move needed to win his services.
