SALT LAKE CITY: Welcome to the Utah Jazz mailbag, where our NBA insiders respond to your weekly inquiries regarding your preferred team on social media.

We will ask your questions regarding the Jazz on KSL Sports Threads, Instagram, X, and Facebook pages once a week.

Then, in that week’s mailbag, we will address as many as we can.
A: Markkanen faces a difficult question this season, but not because he hasn’t performed at an All-Star level since the opening night.

The Jazz forward passes the All-Star sniff test with his 23.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 87 percent from the free-throw line, 40 percent from three-point range, and 49 percent from the floor overall.

In addition, the Jazz will be well within reach of the Play-In Tournament in the West and, at most, one game below.500 when the All-Star reserves are revealed.

Additionally, Markkanen is without a doubt the best player on his team, which may give him an advantage over players like Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Paul George, Rudy Gobert, Chet Holmgren, and Anthony Davis, who have all had seasons deserving of an All-Star, but who aren’t the best players on teams that are superior than the Jazz.
