Fussball.News reports that Ipswich is considering signing Ngankam to a temporary contract for the remainder of the season. However, Luton Town of the Premier League and Royal Antwerp of Belgium will be rivals.

Ngankam is reportedly being demoted at Frankfurt since the German Bundesliga team has already brought in striker Sasa Kalajdzic on loan from Wolves this month and has been strongly connected to PSG’s Hugo Ekitike.
Ngankam, who only joined Frankfurt in the summer, was formerly a Germany U21 international.

His professional career began at Hertha Berlin, where he made his team debut in May 2020.

In Berlin, the 23-year-old had trouble getting consistent playing time.

which resulted in his loan move to fellow German team Greuther Furth, who were playing in the Bundesliga at the time, for the 2021–2022 season.
Still, he would only play in six league games that season, with two goals.

At the end of that season, Furth exercised their option to purchase him permanently, but Hertha Berlin signed him back that same summer.

He made 18 appearances for Berlin last season and scored four goals, but it was insufficient. For the first time in ten years, they were relegated to Bundesliga 2 football after finishing last in the Bundesliga.
In the summer of 2023, Ngankam relocated to Frankfurt, where he is currently a member. He has struggled to get consistent game time thus far this season. failed to score in just two of his fifteen league outings as a starter.
