Brendan Rodgers’ replacement at full back is being sought after by Celtic, and the Hoops have already received a response.

During the January transfer window, Celtic Park showed initiative by signing Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn early in the month. Since then, all eyes have been on a new striker, and Adam Idah of Norwich City appears to be the likely candidate to lead the attack.

However, more acquisitions may be made before tonight’s deadline, with the intention of bringing in a left-back to compete with Greg Taylor. In that role, a particular target has surfaced, and the Hoops have already made a belated offer to hire him.

Through their round-up on transfer deadline day, TEAMtalk claims that Celtic has extended a loan offer to sign Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno.

The Hoops’ pursuit of the 21-year-old hasn’t been fruitful, though, as Wolves rejected Parkhead’s approach.

This season, Bueno—who can play left-back or left-midfield—has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Gary O’Neil; only five of those have come from the starting line. Although Rayan Ait-Nouri had been O’Neil’s top pick, Wolves obviously don’t want to loan Bueno to Scotland because the latter is still seeing some playing time.

Matt Hobbs, the sporting director of Wolves, recently heaped praise on him, detailing Bueno’s development at Molineux and referring to him and Ait-Nouri as a “exciting left-back.”
“Hugo and the coaches have worked hard to change Hugo’s position since he joined us as a 16-year-old number 10, and his acceptance of doing so demonstrates what a good pro he is.”

It was amazing to see how quickly he was able to adjust to a new role and grow. Hugo is among the club’s greatest success stories. Having brought him in from a Spanish grassroots team at the age of sixteen, he is currently 21 years old and a regular Premier League player. it’s testament to everyone involved.

“It’s intriguing since we have good fortune in that section of the field.” There will be a wonderful little duel between our two young, exciting left-backs/left wing-backs since they are slightly different but both have incredible skill.

“Rayan has had a great start to the season and has maintained his shirt throughout his play. Hugo played a lot last year.” They are really close to one another, so it’s healthy for them to compete against one another. We will see the results of that in both of their performances.
