Journalist Julian Capera reports that Oscar Cortes, a winger for RC Lens, has signed a contract to become a new player for the Rangers.
On Wednesday, January 31, the journalist announced on X that he will make an official declaration regarding his signature on February 1st, the day of the deadline.
The Colombian international, who is going to move on loan to Ibrox, will wear the number 16 jersey for the Glasgow team, according to Capera.
Ibrox is busy during the winter transfer season, much like it is during the summer window, but Philippe Clement is under pressure rather than Michael Beale.
Last time out, the latter made a lot of changes to his team, but it ultimately backfired on him because he was fired soon after.
However, Clement has drastically changed the situation at Ibrox, and it doesn’t appear that he will be leaving anytime soon.
This is his first opportunity to acquire and sell players, and he hasn’t hesitated, as evidenced by the arrival of Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande on loan from Wolves and Nordsjaelland, respectively, and the impending temporary arrival of Cortes.
The manager has done a fine job in his time at the club so far, but will need all the help he can get as the Gers look to go on a strong run in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League.
